Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 September 2026
1. Who we are
Clearview Motors Ltd (company number 17415666) is a used car dealer in Neasden, north-west London. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, and what your rights are.
2. Information we collect
If you ask us to value your car
- your vehicle’s registration, make, model, year, fuel type, colour and current mileage
- what you tell us about its service history and its cosmetic and mechanical condition
- whether you would like to bring the car to us or ask for a collection quote, and your postcode if you would like a quote
- your name, email address and telephone number
If you contact us about a vehicle or send a general enquiry
- your name, email address and telephone number
- whatever you choose to tell us in your message
We do not ask for your address, date of birth or bank details through this website.
3. Looking up your vehicle
When you enter a registration to get a valuation, we check it against government vehicle records held by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) so we can identify the car.
We only send the registration. Your name and contact details are never included.
DVSA is a government agency responsible for its own records. We use this only to identify the vehicle and keep no record of the check itself.
4. How we use your information
We use it to:
- identify your vehicle and prepare your valuation
- contact you about your enquiry or your valuation
- arrange handover, drop-off or collection if you decide to sell to us
- keep proper business records
We do not send marketing emails or texts, and we do not use your information to build a profile of you. Every valuation is produced by a person — nothing on this website generates an automatic price or makes an automated decision about you.
5. Our legal basis
- Taking steps at your request before entering a contract — when you ask us to value your car, because you are asking us to take steps towards buying it.
- Our legitimate interests — when you send us a general enquiry, so we can reply, and to keep our website secure.
- Legal obligation — where we are required to keep records, for example for tax and accounting.
We do not rely on consent for any of the above, and we will not add you to a marketing list.
6. Who else sees your information
Your enquiry comes to us by email. We never sell your information, and we do not pass it to other dealers, brokers, finance companies or buyers.
Two providers handle it on our behalf: the service that delivers the email from our website, and the provider of our email system. Both act only on our instructions.
7. Information leaving the UK
Our email providers are based in the United States and your enquiry may be stored outside the UK. These transfers are covered by contractual protections approved for use under UK data protection law — the Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum — and both providers are also certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
8. How long we keep it
If your enquiry does not lead to us buying your car, we keep it for 12 months from our last contact with you and then delete it. Sellers who do not go ahead at the time often come back to us later.
If you do sell us your car, your details become part of our business and accounting records, which we keep for as long as the law requires.
9. Cookies
Our website does not use cookies, and we do not use analytics or tracking services.
10. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your information
- stop or limit how we use it
- provide it in a portable format
Email hello@clearviewmotors.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
